Blizzard of ‘09

SNOW!!! It started snowing yesterday around 2pm in Blacksburg and was still going strong when we went to bed. We woke up this morning to a beautiful white landscape of about 16″ of snow! Luckily we knew the storm was coming so headed out after work on Thursday to get Zakary a snow suit. Here are some photos of us having fun in the snow this morning!

Science Museum

We drove to Roanoke to take Zakary to the Science Museum. He’s still too young to really appreciate all the cool scientific things to see, but he still had a great time. I think the electric globe was his favorite!

He also enjoyed touching all the different types of rocks, including this piece of quartz.

Dinosaurs! RAWR! Zakary normally likes dinosaurs (we bought him a toy one on the way out), but he was oddly quiet and simply stared at this huge T-Rex.

Zakary loves the beach!

Zakary isn’t quite crawling yet, so he’s pretty much been just sitting on the beach eating sand. The weather was a lot nicer today, but we only got to spend a little over an hour at the beach. He’s had so much fun the past couple days he napped tons today.

Father’s Day at the Beach

We’re in Bethany Beach for the week, so I got to spend Father’s Day with Zakary at the beach today. It’s been cold and rainy since we got here on Saturday, but we’re hoping for better weather tomorrow. Zakary seemed vaguely interested in the water, but he really liked the sand! Here’s a few photos from today. We’re on vacation all week so stay tuned for more!

Beautiful Day

Today was a beautiful sunny Saturday! It ended up being a very busy day, but I was able to squeeze in some photos of Zakary and Korine just before sunset. Earlier in the day I had a pro bono photo shoot for a local daycare. I’ll save that though for another post once I get to processing the photos. I also mowed the grass today. It had gotten so tall that I actually had to use the weed wacker first to get it low enough for the lawn mower to not choke on it. In hindsight, I should have taken a few photos of it because it was pretty wild!

This was Zakary sleeping in this morning. He often sleeps with his arms raised like that. Maybe he’s dreaming about volleyball?
