We drove to Roanoke to take Zakary to the Science Museum. He’s still too young to really appreciate all the cool scientific things to see, but he still had a great time. I think the electric globe was his favorite!

He also enjoyed touching all the different types of rocks, including this piece of quartz.

Dinosaurs! RAWR! Zakary normally likes dinosaurs (we bought him a toy one on the way out), but he was oddly quiet and simply stared at this huge T-Rex.

A couple weeks ago we took Zakary on his first flight and went to Orlando to visit family. We flew out on a Thursday and back on Monday. It was a short but sweet visit. Zakary got to meet his Grandpa Shannon, Grandma Ro, and even his GREAT Grandparents ( “Pop-Pop and Grandma to me)! It was very hot and muggy outside (umm it’s Florida duh) so we spent most of the time inside in the AC playing with Z. He had just started crawling two days before we left and really started zooming around down there!

I’ve added a link to the Realtor Guide to my main menu, but you can also click here to view it. This is a great read for all you real estate agents out there. It’s a two page guide that is intended to help Realtors understand the basic aspects of using photos in real estate marketing. The guide comes from my friends over at PFRE which is a really great resource for real estate photographers like myself.
Here’s an excerpt:
But there are even more compelling reasons for using great photography to present your listing:
- Your home seller client will be pleased how you are presenting their property.
- It’s a well established fact that great photos and marketing materials are a way to get more listings. Neighbors of the listing property watch carefully how a property is marketed. If they like what they see, they will ask you to list their property.
- If you are competing for a listing, the commitment of professionally done photography and marketing materials can help you win the listing.
Also, anyone in the New River Valley that would like a real estate agent who not only understands these principles but actually practices them on a daily basis, then head on over to NRVLiving and give a shout to Jeremy Hart. He’s not only an awesome real estate agent but also my #1 client!
Wow, I can’t believe it’s almost a month already since we were at the beach! We had a great time hanging out with family and giving Zakary his first taste of salt water and sand (mostly the latter)! I think I’ll end this series of beach posts with one last batch of photos. I took so many that it’s hard to choose, but here are some of my favorites from our last day.

Today we decided to drive an hour south of Bethany to check out Assateague Island. I was looking forward to empty beaches and wild ponies, but instead we found full parking lots and even fuller beaches. Before leaving we took a stroll along a secluded marshland trail. The mosquitoes had their ways with me, but it was well worth it to get this photo. I’ve been using this 10-20mm wide angle lens exclusively for my real estate work, but as you can see, it also takes gorgeous landscape photos!
